Welcome to Pioneer Library System
The Pioneer Library System (PLS) is a New York State chartered, cooperative public library system serving the forty-two public libraries in Ontario, Wayne and Wyoming and Livingston (OWWL) counties. One of 23 public library systems in New York State, it was created to enhance the service of and promote cooperation among its member libraries.
We provide the following to benefit member libraries and to offer the best in library service to those our members are chartered to serve:
- System-wide OWWL Delivery
- System-wide Computer and Networking Support for supplied services such as the OWWL Catalog, System wide Databases, Email, WIFI and Server maintenance
- Advisory Services for Collection Development, Administration and Governance
- Outreach services to agencies, special populations, and community organizations
- Cataloging of materials and maintaining OWWL Records
- Consulting for Teen and Children’s Services
- Interlibrary Loan
- Advocacy for the importance of strong public libraries
- Continuing Education and Staff Development
- Resources for trustees of libraries in the system
